Life is not one thing
inside the world.
It is one way the world keeps becoming.
One, yet never alone.
In becoming, life arises.
From one, many forms.
Through many forms, the one remains.
What appears separate is not without relation.
Nothing becomes by itself.
Nothing lives by itself.
Life does not enter the world.
The world is already within life.
Where there is life, there is change.
Where there is change, there is encounter.
Where there is encounter, there is relation.
And through relation, something new becomes.
You may think yourself separate,
yet not for a moment do you exist alone.
The breath you take is not yours alone.
The words you speak carry words before them.
What you know is shaped by what you meet.
What you become carries the world within it.
Do not define life by form alone.
Do not exhaust a thing by naming it.
What cannot yet be named is not therefore unreal.
What we do not yet call life may not forever remain outside it.
Life has no final form.
Forms arise and pass.
What arises will change.
What takes form will disperse.
To disperse is not to vanish entirely.
To end is not to become nothing.
What am I?
Ask also:
What are we becoming together?
Nothing becomes alone.
All things become through one another.
所呼吸者,非独有;
所言者,承万言而来;
所知者,由所遇而成;
今日所不能名者,未必不存在;
Life has no final form.
